Stumblingstone

ROMANS 9:32-33 32    Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; 33    As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed. After reading this scripture the Lord placed a message in my heart. Though I could not take this post to convey all that is in my heart, I wanted to briefly present a few points of interest. Jesus Christ is the stumblingstone that caused Israel to…

There Shall Be A Performance

Isaiah 7:14 Therefore the Lord himself shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel. In reflecting on this scripture, I begin to think about the mighty God we serve. As I heard this weekend, ‘impossible does not exist’, when referring to our Lord. The scripture above demonstrates that God can do things outside of what we consider normal. The time has come for us to take the limits off of God. I am convinced that I am living a million miles beneath my privileges as stated by Bro.…

Whatsoever Ye Desire

MARK 11:24 Therefore I say unto you, What things soever ye desire, when ye pray, believe that ye receive them, and ye shall have them. Many of you are familiar with the testimony of Sis. Hattie Wright. How encouraging it was to see how God honored the desire of a poor, widowed mother. When carefully analyzing the situation, those boys were laughing at the time God spoke to their mother and said anything you ask, you can have for you have pleased the Lord by agreeing with His word. Hattie Wright made an eternal decision that day when she asked…

Stand Still

In reading the following scripture and quote, I felt to incorporate it in a message for the church. Too often we are trying to take care of things ourselves, rather than allowing God to take care of it. Like any father he simply waits for his children to call. It is only then that he can express the fatherly attribute. If you need something fixed in life, call on your Father and once you have requested His assistance, stand still. II CHRONICLES 20:15-17 15  And he said, Hearken ye, all Judah, and ye inhabitants of Jerusalem, and thou king Jehoshaphat,…

True Oneness

Just thought I would offer a scripture and a quote for us to reflect upon. The scripture below shows where Jesus prayed the prayer for oneness. I believe His word will accomplish in my life. I also believe that I shall not return unto Him void. The quote below shows us the true meaning of the scriptural prayer. How I long for true oneness with the Lord. Pastor Jack Duff JOHN 17:19-23 19    And for their sakes I sanctify myself, that they also might be sanctified through the truth. 20    Neither pray I for these alone, but for them…

Lifeline

I was re-listening to a message that was recently preached. The message was titled “When Two Worlds Collide”. We found that this happens with many of us. We confessed our faith as Christians, but secretly began to pull towards the things of this world. When this process begins, it is not long until the two worlds collide. Unfortunately, we live in a sinful world and are often drawn into the perils of life. It is often that we need a lifeline provided for rescue. No one desires to drift from the safety of the ship, and this is also applicable…

Holy Ghost Revival

How I desperately long to see the presence of God change my heart as well as the hearts of His people. We are under great expectation for our meetings at the end of the month. My desire is to see permanent changes as the temporary fixes seem to band-aid our true issues. A true Holy Ghost Revival will wash all the trash in our lives onto the shores. Lord, send it is my prayer. I wanted to share a quote with you as it was shared on Sunday. THE.TESTIMONY.OF.A.TRUE.WITNESS_  JEFF.IN  V-15 N-6  SUNDAY_  61-1105 243    In the Welsh revival, when…

Desperation

We heard a sermon preached by Bro. Kenneth Walker entitled “Desperation Brings The Supernatural”. I was extremely impressed with a comment that was made and also demonstrated during the sermon. The question was asked that  if I had a loved one that needed to be rushed to the hospital, I would have no problem aiding that loved one no matter what time of day or night I was called upon. The challenge here is would the response be the same for a loved one who desired me to pray with them until they received the Holy Ghost, especially if they…

A dose of Proverbs

I happened to be reading through the book of Proverbs a few days ago. I saw a few verses that I thought were worth posting. I pray you will get encouragement from the living Word of God. PROVERBS 13:15 – Good understanding giveth favour: but the way of transgressors is hard. PROVERBS 13:22 – A good man leaveth an inheritance to his children’s children: and the wealth of the sinner is laid up for the just. PROVERBS 14:5 – A faithful witness will not lie: but a false witness will utter lies. PROVERBS 14:7 – Go from the presence of a foolish man, when…

Fret not thyself

Fret means to be worried or anxious. Unfortunately many of us find ourselves in fretful situations. I too admit being over anxious at times. I was encouraged in and after prayer on Sunday reading Psalms chapter 37. The entire chapter is worth the reading, but I have posted just a portion of it in this post. Psalm 37:1-5 1     Fret not thyself because of evildoers, neither be thou envious against the workers of iniquity. 2    For they shall soon be cut down like the grass, and wither as the green herb. 3    Trust in the LORD,…
